FAQ
Questions clients ask before booking
Clear answers about our services, licensing, how we work and how we price your cover.
Services
What types of security do you provide?
We provide retail, static, property, building and event security, as well as CCTV, alarm response and keyholding. Close protection, education security and canine teams are available on request. Each main service has its own page setting out what it covers and how it works.
What areas do you cover?
London and the surrounding counties. If your site is further afield, get in touch and we will confirm whether we can provide the standard of cover you need.
Do you monitor CCTV around the clock?
Our CCTV service covers footage review rather than live monitoring, as part of CCTV, alarm response and keyholding. When an incident occurs, we review the recordings and save the relevant clips before the system overwrites them.
Can you cover a single shift or a one-off event?
Yes. We survey the site and prepare a brief first, so the officer knows your site from the start. Tell us your dates and we will confirm what we can provide.
What happens if an officer is sick or on holiday?
Cover arrangements are written into your site brief at the start, so a replacement officer arrives already briefed on your site and ready to work.
Licensing
Are your officers SIA licensed?
Yes. Front-line security officers must hold a valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence by law, and we can provide licence details for any officer assigned to your site.
Is the company itself SIA licensed?
SIA licences are issued to individuals, so each of our officers holds their own. For companies, the SIA runs a separate accreditation called the Approved Contractor Scheme. If a tender asks for company-level accreditation, ask us and we will confirm what we hold.
Are you insured?
Yes. Ask for a copy of our insurance certificate at quotation stage and we will send it with your quote.
How are officers vetted?
Every officer passes right-to-work, identity and SIA licence checks, and we take up references. Roles in education and certain other settings also require an enhanced disclosure. Where that applies, it is a condition of the officer working on your site.
What are the rules on guard dogs?
Guard dogs on occupied premises carry specific legal duties, including keeping the dog under a handler's control and displaying warning notices. These duties apply to you as occupier as well as to us, so we set them out in writing before any canine deployment.
Working with us
How does a new assignment start?
With a site visit, from which we prepare a written site brief. It covers patrol routes and timings, access rules, key holders, escalation contacts and the situations most likely on your site. Cover begins once you have approved it.
What is a site brief?
It is the written set of instructions for your site, known in the industry as assignment instructions. A copy stays on site and officers are briefed on it before their first shift. We review it whenever your site or the level of risk changes.
What reporting do we get?
Shift and incident reports on a schedule agreed with you, written to a standard suitable for your insurer or the police. Where we hold your keys, each callout also produces its own written report.
Will we get the same officers each time?
We aim to keep the same officers on your site, because familiarity with a building strengthens its security. Continuous cover involves some rotation for rest days and relief. You will see a small, consistent team who know your site.
How do we raise a problem?
Speak to your named contact, using the escalation order agreed at the start. If you have any concern about an officer's performance, tell us and we will deal with it promptly.
Cost
How much does security cost?
It depends on the hours, the number of posts, the licence category required and the notice period. Because each site is different, we price your cover after reviewing the site. Tell us what you need and we will send you a written quote.
Do you charge for the site survey?
No. The survey is part of preparing an accurate quote, so there is no separate charge for it.
Is there a minimum contract length?
Not as a rule. Ongoing cover is normally arranged for an agreed period so that both sides can plan staffing, and one-off or short-notice work is quoted separately. Whatever we agree is confirmed in writing before work starts.
